Down the hill
Piwonia visited us today wearing his new wellingtons, just like these ones! The surveyor was coming to survey their plot down the hill. This is necessary when you plan to do any building work. We had a look round the plot which includes an old house requiring maybe too much work and a fine old orchard. There is a nice view of the forest and a few other houses are situated a respectable distance away. The surveyor will do his job in the next couple of weeks and didn't stand long in the freezing rain. We had a look at the other houses from a distance. This one has been improved a little since I saw it last. The roof which is traditional except for the skylights is made from layers of thin slices of aspen wood. They obviously feel better having a lightning conductor, but there are various schools of thought about that.
The 100% rubber Wellingtons performed ideally.
