Sunflower

Mae's red sunflower has opened all the way this morning, and is about 6 or 7 inches across. We can see all the folded up petals on the second one, but it doesn't look like it will bloom for another day or two. It's been overcast and drizzly this morning, with heavy winds coming this afternoon, so I was wondering if I should try to find something to stake it with, as it must be about 5 1/2 or so feet high and I'm afraid the stalk will snap in the wind. If it's not raining later on, (& if the stalk doesn't break) we're going to try to get a picture of Mae with her flower......couldn't do it this morning as she's at her soccer practice and Tom & I have to leave shortly for his chemo. :))
