Lifeboat

We headed out to the RH&DR today thinking that the steam engines would be the highlight of the day, with vintage buses in second place.... but they both got pushed aside.
When we arrived at Dungeness lifeboat station we were disappointed that the boat was out, but turned out to be fabulous as we got to watch it come back in. The boat house is set back on a pebble beach so the boat races into the beach to clear the waterline then gets picked up by an amazing contraption which also spins it round 180 degrees so it’s facing the right way for the next launch. Amazing bit of kit and great to watch.
We also enjoyed the trains and buses, but the lifeboat was star of the show!
