If you've got it, flaunt it ...

Very late arrival at the villa last night. Flight into Alicante had been perfect but picking up the hire car has rarely had the same adjective applied. We were an hour in the wait queue!! Then it felt like the same amount of time until we actually got the car. Because these hire companies charge ridiculous amounts for insurance we have taken out a policy that covers the excesses over a year - we use enough hire cars to justify this. The pressure put on at the hiring point is huge - emotional blackmail. Fortunately John resisted - but we checked our policy this morning and all is ok.
We eventually got to the villa at 2am. Everything looked fantastic so our agent is doing a great job. AND she had thought to make sure that there were some beers in the fridge. What an angel!

This morning I popped to the local shop to get our bread and strawberry jam (standard holiday breakfast) before we visited the local Sunday market and then supermarket. So now stocked up with beer, wine, chicken, paella and a few other bits, we have chilled out for most of the day. We had a siesta and have both been in the pool (yes, even me).

At the market this morning I couldn't help noticing this couple. Flaunting his tan or what? No prizes for estimating the number of pints invested in that beer belly!!
