Rumours of Britain’s action having taken the form of an ultimatum to Germany demanding a withdrawal of her troops from Polish territory, and offering to consider the situation as equal, if conciliation was agreed to, to that before the Germany troops marched on Poland.

Continual air attacks on Polish towns and villages.

No definite statement by Mr Chamberlain in the House. General uneasiness expressed by the leader of the Opposition Mr Greenwood.

No reply from Germany.
