Boats to the rescue...
Just starting to think about taking decorations down and the start of the new term...
Paper boats amongst them this year, even a wee, wee one made from an After Eight wrapper, and a Singing Kettle one. Maybe we should have asked pupils to send us photos of all the various paper boat decorations they made, all those wee boats adorning Christmas trees around Clydeside for maybe one more day...
The wee painting in the background is an early work by George Wyllie, The Rescue.
He used to tell his daughters stories about it. (It hung in their room.) The scene reminds me of bedtime stories about Grace Darling, the rescuer...
That's what I like about his work. You can make it your own...
What d'you think? What's the story?
(Photos of paper boat decorations also welcome...)
