Digging

They're digging up a field at High Ash Farm - I think it is lottery funded rather than Time Team.

We took a trip to a charity shop to dump drop off unwanted items, including the large TV we have just replaced.  We noticed people walking up the road when we were on the way out, and so on the way back we stopped off for a shufty.  Unfortunately, they were only doing guided tours, not "free for all" nosy; we had missed one, and the next was not for a couple of hours.  They made very encouraging noises about coming back - "it's very exciting" they said.  But I'm afraid we didn't.  We just took some photos from across the road, and went home.

We did go out again mid afternoon to have a cream tea.  Through the summer, volunteers make and serve cream teas in the church in Caistor St Edmund, and we've been meaning to support this venture.  Today was the last opportunity this year.  It was remarkably busy, and rather charmingly chaotic, with the tables in the porch, and small tables scattered down the central aisle of the church.  Some people were simply sitting in the pews.  The scones were tasty, and at least it was real ground coffee - not instant.
