Burgos

Rolled out of the Picos on arrow straight roads and arrived at Burgos campsite in time for lunch and laundry before cycling into town on the shaded riverside path. The cathedral, which is renowned Gothic, is insanely decorated both inside and out with twiddly bits upon twiddles like the winner of an extravagant wedding cake icing competition. Words fail me. Try the pictures.

Then a quick stroll up to the heavily ruined castle for views over town before back to bring in the washing and be surprised at the sea of motorhomes that has arrived. I’ve got one of those sweet little egg shape caravans next to me though; it’s Dutch.
