Solidarity in Gdansk
Gdansk’s luster harkens back to medievil times when it was the mercantile powerhouse of the Baltic. The city’s history is on display in this shot of the restored Old Town, a mix of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles.
Thirty-nine years ago, the world looked to the Gdansk Shipyard where Poles struggled for their rights and freedoms. At that time Pope John Paul said,
"There is no freedom without solidarity." Today we need to say, 'There is no solidarity without love and respect for one another."
