Sunflowers .....

.... make me happy.

Even though the skies were cloudy this afternoon we decided to go to a huge sunflower field that R had seen on Facebook.

R's Facebook friend (ex co-worker) had an address listed but when we got to that address we didn't see a field of sunflowers!  As we continued along the road I could spot a huge yellow field and figured that must be it.  And I was right .... for a change!

The sunflower field was beautiful and we spent some time there enjoying the flowers, bees and butterflies.  And getting lots of pictures! I processed my picture with a slight watercolor effect. 

Since the Lehigh Valley Zoo was only about 10-15 minutes away we went there after leaving the field of sunflowers.  We were only going to go in and see a few of our favorites but we ended up taking the entire loop!  Which, thankfully, isn't too large. 

We spent the rest of the day simply relaxing at home.

This normally would be the end of our weekend but tomorrow is a holiday here in the States so R has another day off!
