View from a bridge
I've photographed the beautiful St Helen's Wharf many times before but I've never been able to do so from Abingdon Bridge - until now with my new telephoto lens :)
All the London Plane trees had a haircut last week (see this in action here) and it all looks very spick and span, and ready for new spring growth.
The tall chimneys are from the 14th century and 16th century, Long Alley (left , behind the pub) and Brick Alley (centre) almhouses. If you look in large you will also see the pub sign of the Old Anchor Inn.
The floodwater is slowly, slowly receding. The barge in Wednesday Jan 2nd's blip that appeared to be floating on the grass is now reachable from the Thames Path although much of the surrounding meadow land is still underwater.
