It's all Charley’s fault!
I was thinking about our old Rowing club today when we were taking the the grey float apart. It’s easy to take it apart in 6 piece sections, it’s harder to scrape the barnacles off the bottom (they used to be full of mussels too..which is why we took it out of the salt water every season, but now there are hardly any mussels!) It’s even harder to carry even that small a section up from the beach to the “road” by the dock but we figured how to use the golf cart to help drag it a little. A bit more than half done. Bandaids and tylenol required. IMHO we are too old to be working this hard. :-)
Still haven’t heard from the rowing club how they plan to get it.
Also took the tin boat out of the water before dinner and tucked away in our neighbor’s boathouse, with his kind help.
So I’ve cheated and posted an old photo with our coach Charley coxing the quad..in June 2006.( before blip) …I must admit we had a lot of fun..our Seattle rowing club had “camp” here every year. Charley absolutely loved it. This one is H and me (purple) and the island neighbor ladies I taught to row that joined our camp. … we rowed the double here together for many years..
Tomorrow is my birthday and we will complete the task (grrrr) and I’ll probably still be thinking of that Charley...( who died in 2008 age 85)
Extras..old pix with the quad and the double…Today on the beach….
