Black Woodpecker buffet

This is a hole that a black woodpecker has made into a tree (presumably) in search of maggots...


It's been a relatively poor blipday, lots of poor pics and somewhat low inspiration. Even this pic had to be cropped and I'm not still happy with it. Oh well, the flipside of daily blipping...

...Not that I feel blipping is a daily duty or a burden, quite the opposite, but naturally some days are just better than others. (edit)
