Hurricane Dorian Update:
This brutal storm is still harassing the coast of FL. It's still about 100 miles off the coast and moving north at about 9mph. Lots of rain for folks on the coast, with wind gusts, lightning and tornado threats. Several sand dunes along the coast have been destroyed, sea turtle nests uncovered and the turtle eggs washed out to sea. Very sad. Our weather, here in Gainesville, has been cloudy with some low level wind gusts. Conditions may deteriorate later in the afternoon but all in all, we've dodged this bullet! Thank you for all of your kind words of concern. If there is any way you can contribute to groups gearing up to help the people of the Bahamas...please do! Best of luck to all of those still remaining in Dorian's path.
