Rugby and cinema, busy day.

Oot n aboot on a wet afternoon at Linlithgow Palace. The Scotland Rugby World Cup 2019 final squad were introduced one by one by Gregor Townsend, Scotland Coach, to the assembled supporters and media, waiting patiently in the continuous rain and drizzle. The backdrop of the iconic Palace was a good idea, shame they couldn’t fix the weather! I couldn’t take a photo front on, (not a good location for many of us). The official photos turned out ok, their photographers were straight on. The #RWC2019 squad are a good selection overall, but as always there’s some controversy around the margins. We also met up with a few friends, that was a bonus.

The final Scotland RWC2019 warm up game is on Friday evening at Murrayfield, against Georgia.

In the evening we went to see recently released film “Mrs Lowrie and Son” screened in the Playhouse at the Macrobert Arts Centre, the University of Stirling. A nice venue, and the audience were respectful, as aye. Essentially it’s a biopic on the life of artist LS Lowrie in 1930s Lancashire. He lives with his overbearing mother, to whom he’s devoted and loyal. He has a bit of a miserable existence if I’m honest. She’s a real negative energy in his life. Good film, and I liked the 1930s period sets.

Drove home - a wet, windy and dark trip. Times are changing.
