Great Egret...
...Not a good photo as we were on the move and it was windy. We've seen Little Egrets before but never Great ones and we saw two.
We are now in Leeds Dock. Since leaving Bingley Five Rise yesterday morning we've gone through 27 locks and 24 swing bridges. There were often CRT (Canal + River Trust) people at the locks to help which makes the process quicker. Also, at Bingley we paired up with another couple - David and Sharon on their narrowboat NANCY. It's always nice to have good company along the way. We laughed a lot when we were in the locks and also many hands made light(er) work - though it's still hard work. I am always at the tiller so don't have the physical work of winding and pushing but it's been a couple of really windy days and it can be difficult to control the boat when a gust catches it.
Anyway, we've battened down the hatches now and are warm and cosy inside.
Although we're still being tossed about in the strong winds it's nothing compared to hurricane Dorian. My heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones and homes :-(
