One year on.
A beautiful blue sky sunny morning in Bristol so we just had to set off to the Common and the park.
Grace has gone into work today when she would normally be off so she could to get all her pre term preparation done. I have come down to look after Eda for her so that she could do this. It was like turning the clock back a year.
You may remember I came down last year for the whole of September before Eda started nursery.
So here we are on the same swings in the same park. Same smile but Eda now has quite long hair and it is effectively the same cardigan she is wearing but in a different colour and size!
After, we went over to the nearby Cafe on the Common passing a women’s exercise class taking place on the grass.
I had a coffee and we shared a Blueberry muffin (without a tantrum this time). Eda likes dogs but there is a dog free zone where there are watering cans so she played with those before we walked home for lunch.
She was ready for her nap, I think the last couple of full days at nursery after a long break have tired her out.
A favourite at the moment is ‘Stick Man’ so we watched that when she woke up. I was interested to see that she wanted to sit on my knee and have a cuddle when Santa was coming down the chimney! Not so keen on him!
We had some fun games too and she enjoyed looking at one of the books that Granny (of course) brought down for her. A National Trust ‘Look and Say‘ at the farm book as her vocabulary is developing rapidly, I’ve noticed the difference even since we were down at the beginning of August. She repeats everything.
So really she is a very long way from that 11 month old of last year, quite an independent little character and great to spend a day with.
I get a day to myself tomorrow!
