The winning team

Hold onto your hats ...  Steve and Chris managed to beat habitual champions Shay and Trish in best-of-five at the weekly table tennis grudge match tournament. Untypically, the match was played after lunch at the local restaurant, as the terrace where the table is was wet in the morning, so play may have been affected by over-indulgence.

Lunch was pleasantly sociable and the match entertaining for the one spectator. Chris specialises in trash-talking his opponents and then losing the next point. Once they'd finished I left promptly for today's physio session. I got up to 10 km/hour and 1.5 km on the exercise bike. But I also received the itinerary for our Italian jaunt. First day's walk ... 16 km. I think I'll be chickening out of that one.
