Ron Don- marathon weight loss
In just over a year Ron Don in our Fit4 Life class has lost nearly 7 stone (6 stone 11 lbs..).
This 68 year old retired seed technologist from Bridge of Allan keeps the rest of us on our toes urging us on.
It was his local GP who suggested he should do something about his weight and recommended the Fit4Life class at the Peak Sports Village.
“Making the commitment was the hardest thing,” said Ron. “ I knew what I ought to do. My job used to involve six months travelling often abroad and staying in hotels. Every evening I would be greeted with what amounted to a banquet. A bottle of red wine a night was normal. It was all part of the work.”
Now he grows his own vegetables and has renounced all white and grey carbohydrates. Most days, he is t the Peak either in the gym or doing classes. Recent additions to his fitness routine are weekly yoga and dance classes.
We keep asking him to do a demo of his dancing but so far he has refused.
He still has two stone to go to reach his target weight of 10stone 6lbs.
Meanwhile he is an inspiration to the rest of us.
