Grace life high tea
Started Saturday in the usual way - with pump and zumba.
I did review the speech, en route to and from the gym, but by the time I got back, I was sick of it.
Put my best threads on, gathered my self and hopped in the car, just before 12. I had planned to leave at 11.30 - but, the gathering myself, took longer than anticipated.
I plugged in the garmin.
AND NOTHING !
It would not turn on. I went from excited happy, to freaked out.
Beyond, knowing that the venue, was somewhere near where Vanathy lives, I did not have a clue.
Since I was already late.............. I decided to wing it.
Actually, I tried the GPS on the cell phone. And quickly ascertained that it was not going to help...... if I wanted it's advice, I would have to take the toll road, which was NOT going to happen.
Winging it, did not go well.
I have not visited Vanathy at her place, for a VERY LONG TIME. I made a mistake, I was lost. And, time was ticking......
I screamed. I cried. I prayed. I tried the cell phone GPS again.
It engaged. It turned out, I was actually only 7 minutes away.
I arrived, just before 1 pm. SHAKEN.
I found Emily and was ushered inside. The hall was beautifully decorated. The computer set up was organized. The food on the table, was LOW CARB. Vanathy wafted in to greet me. I was going to be OKAY.
More or less.
The presentation did go well, but I faced a challenge I have NEVER experienced BEFORE. Somehow, when I hit play on my presentation - the system did not engage properly. I had to do my presentation BLIND. I could not see my slides, never mind see-ing the next slide.
I got a good response, the hall was packed (120 people) and a great "thank you" gift.
I followed Vanathy home and spent the evening, chatting to her.
It was REALLY NICE, since it was just the two of us. Her mother-in-law, stayed on her side of the house, David was taxi-ing Rosemary to a ice hockey game in Kempton Park and Cole, was sleeping out. (I was in his bedroom). We talked about emigrating and family........
Of all the people I have discussed it with, she was all for it.
She more-or-less said, she wondered why I hadn't done this sooner. She suggested I track down my "long lost" relatives in Wales.
