BT Disc

An afternoon of doing craft work and catching up with some reading. It is cold and windy outside and as our thermostat in the hall is set for twenty degrees Celsius, the heating has been cutting in and out all day. It is nice to know that the new boiler and thermostat, installed last year are working well. Or is that tempting fate?

Today’s picture is a rather boring one as it is of the new BT disc, which, together with the new “Hub” should give us better broadband coverage. Sadly, unlike the advert on the television it does not produce a purple glow throughout the house!!

We were offered this disc and a new hub, as a upgrade, whether it is faster or gives better coverage in the house, remains to be seen. It was not quite as simple to set up as we were told, it was not just a matter of changing two wires on the back of the old hub and plugging in this disc. It took quite a long time this morning as this disc had to be “paired” with the new hub using an Ethernet cable. I am posting its picture as a reminder that the contract price will increase, so that I can contact them to get another deal.

It has been dull with some rain  and very little sunshine, the temperature at GMT noon today was the same as yesterday, sixteen degrees Celsius.

Update: I am not sure what the two white marks are on the disc, they were not visible until I cropped the photograph.
