From the Himalayans my son made contact via internet to let us know he's fine.
Together with his porter, sharing the burden of his gear, he was walking up a pass of over 5000 metres hight and yestermorning he found that his companion and help had fallen ill with fever and speedy heartbeat (tachycardia) and nausea - High Mountain Disease.... he managed to nurse his mate and get down with him. And from a village at almost 3500 metres he'd contacted us while his porter is recovering.
