The good side of Castle Craig, on the North of the Black Isle. I say the good side, as it's very much an unsafe ruin. This is the East facing side, which is away from the prevailing wind and other weather, so perhaps that's why it hasn't yet collapsed, unlike the West end.
A long walk along the shore and back today - from Newhall Point to the castle. As here, it was fairly grey and calm for the duration.Didn't get back until well after sunset. For about three or more hours, there was near constant shooting going on, somewhere on the other side of the Cromarty Firth. I presume it was at clay pigeons, as the shots were almost regularly spaced about five seconds apart. They must have fired a few thousand cartridges - an expensive day...
