warm and orange
I kicked off my shoes after a solo run this morning. I went early before John awoke (he was up til two as his old-guy hockey game didn't start til 11pm!), and stopped at Pond Cove to watch as the sun just made it's intent clear, to rise up over some clouds on the horizon. Again. It's very reliable, that sun.
So I walked into a warm, quiet, Saturday morning house. The sun, by the time I got home, had peeked up and over and was pouring in through our front, east-facing windows. This photo, of me and my dad at my wedding on Monhegan Island in August 2008, was completely aglow. It was like there was an orange spotlight zeroed in on the photo. I crouched down near the photo and stopped to stare. Almost missed the shot as the sun was climbing fast in the sky. Seconds after I snapped this shot the glow was gone. But he's been in my heart all day. I miss you, Dad. Thank you for showing up today all warm and orange. You made my day.
