The dropped stitch

From Cuween Hill

On the last day of a busy week, I ended up near Finstown looking for a mystery address.

This is the view from Cuween Hill (well, half way up), looking down to the Bay of Firth and 2 small islands: Holm of Grimbister, and further out, the green one is Damsay.

A sign at the road end invites you to climb to a tomb built into the hillside more than 5,000 years ago. Not tempted! Even with the reassurance that 'a torch is provided.'

I'll climb to the top another time though. The views must be wonderful on a clear day.
