Sunflower

Today's the day ……………………… for a little weee-eed

This sunflower must be six foot tall - and it grew all by itself in the garden.

You have to admire something so determined to survive against all the odds - and the weather that has been thrown at it.  It stands there defiantly, daring anything to try and stop it growing.

I have to say that, being of a certain age, it reminds me of a children's television programme that used to exist way back in the mists of time.  If I said "Little Weed"? - you're either going to say, "Oh yes" (in which case you're of that certain age too) - or you're going to be completely in the dark.

Suffice to say that children's television programmes have come a long way since those days ……………………….!
