Last Glimpse of Tuolomne Meadow

Our last little walk in the meadow before we hit the road: farewell to the high country for now. Access to this area has been curtailed since the last time we were here, as the terrain was so damaged from foot traffic. Now there is a single wide gravel trail, where there used to be random dirt paths crisscrossing the grass. We've stood out here and watched the sunset for so many years, put our feet in the water and delighted in the cold stream. Being up here is hard on me because of the altitude, but Tuolomne Meadows is my heart place and it's always hard to leave.
