Elephant Hawk-moth

Well I had a bit of a shock when I saw this in the garden today. I really didn't know what I was looking at until I googled it.
It seems that when they are full on food they travel looking for somewhere to bury in your soil ready to pupate. They are fond of fuschia apparently.
