Feria de Los Reyes
Went to the street Christmas fair in Gran Via tonight to catch some of the atmosphere of the night before Kings Day, which is kind of like Christmas Day here in terms of present giving for children. The three kings arrived tonight at the port in Barcelona and then toured the city, throwing out sweets at the crowds who lined the streets and collected the letters from the wee ones..... who, of course, have all been good all year. The fair in Gran Via has been there for weeks now, but tonight is obviously the busiest night and open till after midnight and is a good mix of food stalls, mainly serving churros, and arts and crafts. We've always enjoyed a wander here because our Christmas shopping is already well over and we can enjoy the atmosphere without the stress! We did buy a wee pressie for Katie, our one-week old grand niece though!
The afternoon was spent at home with friend and fellow blipper Miralgato, who brought us the typical Kings Cake and then proceeded to get the slice herself with the lucky bean and so got to wear the crown!
