On a rather subdued evening, I found these goldenrod plants growing at the edge of the woodland. They have transplanted themselves from the meadow I suppose. What struck me was the contrast of the yellow flower against the dark background.

On reflection, I think I concentrated to much on getting the whole plant in context and maybe I should have experimented more with the thing that attracted me - the contrasting yellow flower.

It was quite breezy and low light, so consequently I lifted the iso to allow a faster shutter speed and keep the flowers sharp. I'm getting more confident with noise reduction and sharpening in post, enabling me to push iso higher than I was previously comfortable with.
