Lesser spotted surfie

The swell kept up through the night, forcing a rearrangement of sun beds. 1.4m at one point before it began to drop off. We eventually got in the sea under the stern eye of the lifeguards.

The storm had scalloped the beach making for steep drops and a nagging longshore current so fair play to the ‘salvataggi’.

Wall to wall sun, good company and plenty of laughs and no land to stoop to, no dishes to wash, no meals to prepare.

Bliss it was that day ... etc. The implacable drum of time beating out age’s advance held briefly in abeyance by the fizz and smack of waves, the caress of a cool breeze, the lessened pulse of the waning sun. The young in their skimpies hopefully hopeful reminding us of so much beach-time past.
