Playing in The Trees

I was intending to have a day at home but when the forester called at lunch time and asked me if I wanted to go out to Hira forest and look for fire ponds how could I refuse.  The task is driving around the forest locating the fire ponds or dams of water that can be used to fight fires.  How much water is in them, what is the access like, do they need repairs or refilling, is their location on the map correct?  All the information collected will then be entered onto the data base.  The first road we went up was being used by logging trucks and he had to radio his position as we drove along.  The trucks radio where they are and we would pull over to let them go past.  They are much bigger.  The blip is the barbed wire around the biggest dam he has ever seen.  I like barbed wire.  In the extra is the forester looking at this huge dam and wondering why it is only half full.  I enjoyed the afternoon driving around and seeing new vistas.
