That time again.
Round bales; just need to get them stored in a dry place, and that’s that done.
Actually there’s quite a lot to bales; value varies with width and diameter of the bale; how wet the crop is at baling and other factors such as the wrap tightness and bale compression. These points are important in respect of transportation and animal feeding/husbandry too. A bale like this may weigh 450kg plus or minus quite a bit! Some advocate hay should only be sold by weight, but that’s not always possible.
There were hundreds in the field when we were oot n aboot today. Other fields nearby are yet to be harvested, or have been, but aren’t baled.
