The Shape of Water
Today was the day for our annual trip to Dr Cheslyn Gan...friend, eye doctor and one time fellow tai chi practitioner. For all those reasons, we still make the hour and a half drive to the Bay Area to see her.
Each year the drive seems longer, the traffic seems worse and we always question why we’re doing it. Perhaps if she found something terribly wrong we would decide it wasn’t worth the drive but I’m glad to say so far so good’ so we will put off the decision for another year.
The pictures are of the wetlands at the top of San Pablo Bay. It is full of bird life but I liked the abstract feel of this inlet between the bay and the wetlands. For a long time this area was mostly salt flats. A few years ago this inlet was created to allow water from the bay to flow into the marshland again. On the other side of the causeway there have been several tidal restoration projects which have resulted in a very large flock of egrets. They are a sight to behold, precariously balancing on a stand of slender reeds.
Unfortunately all I have for photos today is my phone. Upon which I am attempting to write this as OilMan has the bright lights shined into the back of his brain....
