Denver, waiting for the California Zephyr
Left for San Francisco on the Amtrak California Zephyr from Denver at 8am. A bucket list item so we got a sleeping room. All in all a very good experience. Clean, really nice staff, food good, and the wonderful views. How else to get to a train convention.
After a few days walking in SF we drove to Sacramento for the National Narrow Gauge Convention. This annual meeting moves around the country and offers a convention of vendors, modular layouts at the hotel, and home layouts to drive to and visit (50).
The extra is our approach to the Moffat Tunnel, finished in 1928. On the other side is Winter Park, a ski center. Sorry for the crappy photo out the window.
