Beware - shallow waters
Quite a journey we have had to get to an exciting part of our holiday. We took the bus to the airport, hopped on a very, very small plane and flew an hour north to the very top of Vancouver Island. We then hopped in a taxi for a 25 kilometre ride to the small ferry port of Port McNeill, just in time to see our ferry pull away from the wharf! Nevermind, another one in 2 hours time. We found a tea room and after chatting to several people (they are all very friendly) we were advised to go on a boat to another place called Sointula, (of Finnish origin) and told to stay on board and we would eventually arrive at our island, Cormorant Island. We were even told we might see various whales as we chugged along, Well that didn't happen but we are off out whale watching tomorrow.
We are staying in a huge old boat house that hangs out over the water and went to sleep to the sound of the water underneath us and the rain on the roof above but we were both very snug and cosy.
Internet is fitful.
