Coast to coast (or down the pan?)
Living on the North Pembrokeshire coast, I hardly ever get down to the south of the county, so an invitation to a day's walking round the coastline from Dale to Marloes meant a reminder that it has just as much to offer - equal in the craggy cliffs and open skies, but with a different landscape, a more open, gentler feel - and always islands in view. The photos show St Anns Head lighthouse, a walled garden built to supply the original lighthouse in 1800 (now holiday accommodation), a view of Skokholm from Westdale Bay, and a procession of cows. Not shown: Mill Bay where Henry Tudor landed in August 1485 en route to Bosworth Field; Marloes sands where we finished our walk; and my companions.
Behind the walled garden is Milford Haven, one of the world's finest natural harbours (according to Admiral Nelson). Just visible are the oil refineries and LNG terminals. The two refineries produce one fifth of UK capacity; both are forecast to be unviable and likely to close in the event of a 'no deal' Brecsit (Welsh spelling).
