Commuter Car Coin Collector Contraption

This is a parking fee collector. The idea is that you park your car in a numbered space, then insert monies into the corresponding slot in this box. I'm sure this worked well when first installed and the fee was a quarter as the slots are designed to accept coins no thicker then a quarter. Over the years, the fee has steadily climbed and now tops four bucks. It's impossible to cram four dollar bills in the slot, no matter how carefully you fold them. Instead of replacing the device with something that can handle bills, the parking authority attached a thin metal plate to that wire to assist you in cramming in the paper money. I wonder how many folks have missed their train due to faulty bill stuffing. Nuts!
