The Grip
I intended to go out on a walk again this afternoon, but didn't get a chance, as I had an unexpected appointment at the last minute with the optician. It seems I have a PVD (posterior vitreous detachment). Although it isn't affecting my vision, it's a bit annoying. Nothing can be done about it, except hope that my brain adapts and I cease to "see" the shadows and floaters. Strangely, I think it was "caused" by my visit to the dentist earlier in the week, as it only appeared when I was finished with a 30-minute appointment which required anaesthetic injections on the upper left side. The optician thought the injection or the anaesthetic itself could have been enough of a local "trauma" to cause the vitreous to detach slightly. No knowing, but it was a strange coincidence!
Anyway, I didn't have a good selection today, but I had stopped to take a photo of this beautiful old cottage along The Grip, as I cycle out of Linton towards the zoo. The sun was out today and I was loving the cycling. I paused to chat to a friend who was out walking her dogs and she said "I like seeing you on your bike in the mornings, Ron, you just look like a happy little kid." :-)
"The Grip" is the name of the road on the top end of the High Street. No idea what the origin is!
