"This is the only one I earned" he said. In the parking lot I could tell it was a very big deal when he moved with assistance from his walker to the bicycle seat.

You can't see it in this photo, but he has a prosthesis on his right ankle.  He said it was his first time back on his spiffy tricycle after a bad accident.  And he was beaming.  We kept one another company for a bit of the way.  He had a good sense of humor and was very polite.
