Crater Lake

I realized today that's it's been 5 months since I was last up to Portland, yikes, way too long.  

I've done this flight between SFO and PDX countless times but today was the clearest view of Crater Lake in a long time, hazy nonetheless, and not the greatest of pix with the iPhone but it's what was to hand.  There's also a burn going on to the left of the lake, you can see the smoke, hopefully under control.  Mount Shasta clearly visible - extra - but most of the other peaks in the Cascade range were cloudier as we got further north.  

There was an interesting piece earlier this week about Mount Hood.

Very delayed flight, SFO has a runway closed which has been causing major mess, delays, cancellations, so I was just happy to be delayed and not the other, or re-routed which many incoming flights were to Oakland or San Jose, so we'll see where I might end up on the way home next week...

A very nice 75ºF in Portland, instead of the grueling 95ºF in Redwood City.
