Himalayan balsam

Another beautiful autumnal day, so warm in the sunshine and due to last all next week hopefully. I took the long way into the charity shop  today, and had a quick walk through the park. There was not so much of the Himalayan balsam as I have seen in the past.  Although very pretty it is considered an invasive species, so it must have been dug out or cut severely back. I remember when I first saw it and found it projected it's seeds for quite a distance.. and apparently it is a relative of the humble busy lizzie.....who would have known !!
