Where's mum?
This morning Luke and Gavin left home at 6.30am to go to London to his flat as IKEA were delivering the furniture. Before they got there IKEA phoned Luke to say they were already there and they were either going to re-deliver or leave the stuff on the pavement, as they were not insured to carry the boxes of furniture upstairs. The flat Luke is moving in to, as is typical of an old flat in London, has no lift. They arrived shortly after IKEA arrived, and then the two of the had a dreadful time carrying boxes and boxes of furniture up five flights via a very narrow staircase.
While they were huffing and puffing up and down stairs, I took Xena to dog training. She was okay today, slowly making progress but with a puppy it takes time. Most of the puppies today were not as compliant as usual and the trainer said it was due to the full moon last night! She had a good play with the 6 month old Staffie, a much bigger and heavier dog than she is but they played well together. Her favourite (or is it my favourite?) bulldog did not come this week.
Back home again, she was exhausted and went to sleep. I made lunch for everyone because the boys were back quite late from London and were starving!
After lunch Gavin and I took Xena for a walk in Esher Common, where she met a 4 month old lab and they had a good play together. The older dogs are generally not very interested in playing with a puppy so it is a bonus when you meet another puppy. I took this photo there.
It has been another beautiful sunny day, warm and bright. As usual we seem to be having another Indian Summer this year - September is always my favourite month due to the stable weather patterns.
