Roll On Columbia...Roll On

The lightship Columbia was commissioned in 1951, plying the waters of the Columbia River until 1979. It is now de-commissioned, and you can tour it in the lovely seaside town of Astoria, Oregon.

We got into Astoria about 2:30, and we wanted to do a few touristy things, but we were supposed to be in Eugene for supper, and it was 207 miles away!

After getting stuck in two different rush hour traffic jams in Portland, we pulled into Eugene at 7 p.m. Cousin Deanna and husband Bill had a delicious dinner waiting for us, and we got to eat it outside in Deanna's wonderful backyard garden sanctuary.

Life is good.
