Abbaye Saint Pierrede de Maillezais

We were very fortunate to arrive at the Abbaye in time to capture shots of the happy newly married couple - we did not stay very long as the Abbaye was closed for lunch and the temperature was a soaring 31 degrees - 34 promised so back to the car - air conditioning on and head for the gite and a  relaxing afternoon

Extra a very unusual water lily type plant which grew right out of the pool to a height of about 2' - absolutely no idea what it is called - but felt very privileged to see such a beauty plant - does anyone know what it is called?
