Workshop update
It has taken the Ards Man about a week to get this side door sorted. First of all the door (our old front door) needed to be sanded and painted and a complicated lock mechanism fitted. Then he needed to build the door frame and fit that, including the overhead piece of mahogany from a plank donated years ago by an old neighbour from our last home. Yesterday the door was fitted and hinges added and voilà! the door is in!
So now the final wall can have the Siberian larch cladding fitted. Tomorrow we’re going to look at an insulated roller door for the large opening at the front of the workshop; the Ards Man has already had the salesman out to have a look and has gotten a quote he’s happy with.
After that it will be the small matter (!) of insulating the internal structure and designing shelves etc for the areas dedicated to particular woodworking machines and tasks.
Winter jobs sorted!
