Civil war musket ball
A back blip from our trip to Pembrokeshire last week. We went on a history walk around Bluestones where we were staying. I didn’t hold out too much hope of it being very informative given it used to be agricultural land, but the guide was fantastic. He explained the areas medieval past and its links to Roger Mortimer who tried to take over the kingdom of England. We visited his ruined hunting lodge on the park’ which is a recognised historical site. Finally he explained the areas importance in the English Civil War when Pembrokeshire was one of the few places held by the Parliamentarians. He handed around bullets from a near by battle, including this one which still has the moulding on it showing it hadn’t been fired. #Englishcivilwar
