New Gadget

Another slow start to the day.  Then a bit of catch up TV viewing.  Then - reluctantly - I did some gardening.

Front lawn badly needed mowing.  And some bushes were ready to cut back after they had finished flowering.  Then I tackled the weeds in the block paving. ( Well some of them anyway as there are loads.)  Got this new gadget to help with the task.  Its an Electric Weed Burner. You hold the weed burner over the weeds for about 5 seconds.   During the 5 seconds the cell structure of the weed is destroyed and the weeds should die out within a few days.  Its easy to use but you do feel as though you haven't achieved anything as the weeds are still there - hoping that in a few days I will see good results.  Then I will get out and eliminate some more.

Weather today was dry again but not so windy as yesterday.  Still no sunshine though - just cloudy and dull.

Becky, Mike and Neil were all running today.  Neil did the York Half Marathon in a time of 1 hour 27- a Personal Best as his previous best time was 1hr 35 mins.  Becky and Mike were in Richmond ( London ). Becky did the Richmond Marathon and took 3 hrs 44 mins and was 24th lady.  She was pleased with that time as she has been injured ( gammy knee ) and hasn't been able to train much.  Mike did the Half Marathon and he did a Personal Best time of 1 hr 26. Well done to them all.
