What a fine tree!
Tree? I hear you ask. We first saw this impressive carving accross the beck in Grasmere where it appeared to be carved from the base of a huge tree. We hurried round to the front and found that it was by the beck near Oak Bank. Perhaps it was the oak in question. It's very fine whatever its history although it does take a little looking for.
We were in Grasmere to meet Gladders and Gus the dog which adopted his wife and now hardly leaves her side. All six of us had a good walk to Easedale Tarn.
We are now the anxious guardians of Blipbear before he heads off on a trip to the southern hemisphere.
