Sunday Adventuring
An awesome day exploring the Bonny Borders. A lovely walk along the banks of the River Tweed to The Temple of the Muses. With statues of the four seasons it’s dedicated to James Thomson who wrote the lyrics for Rule Britannia. Off into the woods next to discover a big William Wallace statue, and an entertaining walk back through the Donkey Sanctuary. Next it was time for the highlight of the day, a trip to the Monteath Mausoleum. With it’s serene angel statues, stunning starry sky ceiling and sleeping lion guardians outside it’s a very special place indeed. Final stop was Melrose for some well deserved dinner after clocking up more than 8miles of adventuring!
